A galaxy of rock stars staged the world’s biggest concert ever, to convince rich nations to give money to poor ones. Madonna, U2, Bjork and Snoop Dogg were there. Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, also came: “Let us be outraged, let us be loud, let us be bold,” he told the crowd. Bjork also commented on the situation, “I am a total mess,” she said. Aid workers in Africa were skeptical that rock stars could change anything.

Iraqi death count

Iraq’s interior minister said about 8,200 Iraqis have been killed in the past six months from attacks carried out by the Iraqi resistance. An average of forty-five Iraqis are being killed each day.
