Jailed journalists at all-time high
The number of journalists jailed around the world has reached an all-time high.
The Committee to Protect Journalists says a record one hundred thirty four journalists are currently jailed in twenty-four countries. The US government has jailed three reporters. Associated Press photographer Bilal Hussein has been held for eight months in Iraq. Al Jazeera camera operator Sami al-Haj has spent five years at Guantanamo Bay. And the independent journalist Josh Wolf is in a California prison after refusing a court order to hand over video of a protest in San Francisco.
