A new video of kidnapped BBC journalist Alan Johnston shows him wearing an explosives vest and warning he will be blown up if Hamas continues to surround the area where he is being held, the US-based Intel Center said Sunday in an e-mail to news organizations.

Iran cracks down on dissent

Scientists teleport data 89 miles

YouTube challenges Pentagon ban

YouTube’s co-founders on Thursday challenged the Pentagon’s assertion that soldiers overseas were sapping too much bandwidth by watching online videos, the military’s principal rationale for blocking popular Web sites from Defense Department computers.

“They said it might be a bandwidth issue, but they created the Internet, so I don’t know what the problem is,”

Chief Executive Chad Hurley said.

CBS fires Iraq general for anti-war ad

Hamas TV airs anti-Israel kids show despite protest

Hamas’s television station defied the Hamas-led Palestinian government on Friday by airing a show featuring a Mickey Mouse lookalike that urges children to support armed resistance against Israel. During one of the skits, Farfur told young viewers that he aspired to be like the slain spiritual leaders of Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood.

Retired majors to air commercial criticizing Bush

Two retired Army major generals with experience in Iraq will appear in television commercials critical of President George W. Bush’s handling of the war. The ads, to begin airing Wednesday, take aim at key Republicans in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The commercials are timed to coincide with congressional debate over the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

Australian extradited for intellectual crimes

The US extradited an Australian for pirating US software. He is facing up to ten years in prison.

AP employee found dead in Iraq

The body of an Associated Press employee was found shot in the back of the head Friday, six days after he was last seen by his family leaving for work. Ahmed Hadi Naji, 28, was the fourth AP staffer to die violently in the Iraq war and the second AP employee killed in less than a month.

Iraq PM orders investigation of Saddam hanging; leaked video
